II. Use of the www.octopusfreight.net website
1. Scope of data processing
Our website collects certain information automatically and stores it in log files. Thereby, the following data is collected:

- the region or general location where your computer or device is accessing the internet

- operating system and
- date and time of access
- Websites from which the system of the user reaches our website
- Websites that are accessed by the user’s system through our website
2. Legal basis for the processing
We only process your data if this is permitted by an applicable legal regulation. We will process your data in order to protect our legitimate interests according to Article 6 Paragraph 1 Page 1 f GDPR.
3. Purpose of processing
We use this information to help us design our site to better suit our users’ needs. We may also use your IP address to help diagnose problems with our server and to administer our website, analyse trends, track visitor movements, and gather broad demographic information that assists us in identifying visitor preferences.
This named purposes reflect our legitimate interest in the processing of data according to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR.
4. Data storage and retention
The data will be deleted as soon as it is no longer necessary for the achievement of the purpose it was collected for. In the case of acquisition of the data to provide the website, this is the case when the respective session ends.
In the case of storing the data in log files, this is the case after no more than seven days.
III. Registration
1. Scope of data processing
We offer users the possibility on our website to register by entering personal data. The data is entered in an input mask in the process and it is transmitted to us and stored by us. The following data is gathered in the course of the registration process:
- Login (user name)
- Password
At the time of the registration, furthermore the following data is stored:
- The user’s IP address
- Data and time of login
2. Legal basis for the processing
If the registration serves for the fulfilment of a contract to which the user is a party or for the execution of pre-contractual measures, the legal basis for the processing of the data is Art. 6 (1) lit. b) GDPR.
3. Purpose of processing
A registration of the user is required for the fulfilment of a contract to which the user is a party or for the execution of pre-contractual measures and to offer special content.
4. Data storage and retention
The data will be deleted, as soon as it is no longer needed to achieve the purpose for gathering it.
This will be the case during the registration process for the fulfilment of a contract or the execution of pre-contractual measures whenever the data is no longer needed for the execution of the contract. A necessity to store personal data of the contractual partner can also apply after conclusion of the contract, in order to fulfil contractual or legal obligations.
The personal data from your account will be stored for as long as required for the purposes for which the data has been gathered or otherwise processed. This does not apply insofar as we are subject to statutory retention periods.

IV. Google Maps, Google Fonts
1. Purpose and scope of data processing
On our website we use Google Maps (API) from Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheater Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA (“Google”). Google Maps is a web service for displaying interactive maps to provide geographic information. The use of this service will in particular indicate the location of the test drive events and make it easier to get there.
Furthermore we use Google fonts for the uniform presentation of fonts. When you visit our website, your browser loads the required web fonts into your browser cache to display texts and fonts correctly.
2. Legal basis for the processing
Google Maps and Google Fonts are necessary for the user-friendly design of our website. This is also our legitimate interest in data processing according to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f) GDPR.
3. Further information about Google Map
Google is the data controller with regard to the services Google Maps and Google Fonts. Google LLC, based in the United States, is certified to the US Privacy Shield, which ensures compliance with the level of data protection in the EU.
If you disagree with the future transmission of your data to Google when using Google Maps, you can also disable the Google Maps web service completely by turning off the JavaScript application in your browser. In this case, Google Maps and the map display on this website can not be used.

V. Contact form and email contact
1. Purpose and scope of data processing
A contact form is available on our website, which can be used to contact us electronically. If a user uses this option, the data entered in the input mask will be transmitted to us and stored by us. This data is:
- Name
- Company
- Phone
- Your Message
In order to process and answer your inquiries to us via our email address, we process your personal data provided by you in this context. In any case, this includes your name and email address in order to send you an answer, as well as the other information that you send us in the context of your message.
2. Legal basis for the processing
The legal basis for the processing of the data transmitted is Article 6 (1) lit. f GDPR. If the contact aims to conclude a contract, then additional legal basis for the processing is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b DSGVO.
3. Data storage and retention
The data will be deleted as soon as it is no longer necessary for the achievement of the purpose it was collected for.
This is the case, regarding the personal data that has been transmitted with the email, when the respective communication with the user is terminated. The communication is terminated when it can be seen based on the circumstances that the relevant facts have been clarified conclusively.
4. Right to object to processing of personal data
You can object to the processing of your data at any time for reasons that arise from your special situation provided the data processing is based on your consent or our legitimate interest or that of a third party. Under GDPR data subjects have increased rights. The data subject rights are:

VII. Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority
